About the Tour
Our tour begins at the oldest part of Kowloon, where the story of how the name “Kowloon” was developed in 1277; when the last boy emperor of the Sung Dynasty found refuge in Hong Kong while fleeing from the Mongolian empire that took China to start the Yuen Dynasty.
In this 5-hour tour, you have a chance to see the oldest indigenous village in Kowloon where no other tours visit, and you will visit the grandest and most popular Taoist temple that was erected in this village back in 1921.
You are going to walk into the grandest and biggest Tang Dynasty Buddhist nunnery, leading into its wonderful Chinese garden.That means you are going to find out all the contrasts between the two most
popular religions practised in Hong Kong.
We will walk into the old streets of Kowloon City, where in July 1998 photographers had their last chances to take the famous photographs of an aeroplane hanging between two buildings just seconds before landing at the famous old Kai Tak Airport which was closed on 6th July 1998.
On this landing path of the old Kai Tak Airport, you will walk into the oldest historical site in Hong Kong, the Kowloon Walled City, which traces back to the Sung Dynasty (960 — 1279), when an outpost was set up. Here, you can visit the Yaman (Chinese Administrative Office building) kept in its original shape. You will discover all the stories linked to this historical Yamen building that was walled off from its surrounding. This walled off compound was named Kowloon City in later years and the area close-by today is named Kowloon City.
Some of the tour stops can't be found in any other tour itineraries in Hong Kong, that means you are among the first ones to visit these places and you can keep your own private tour journals based on your own visits in this tour.

Please bring on the tour a hat, a light jacket, sunscreen, umbrella, mosquitoes spray, medications for personal needs, mobile phone, cash and ID, wear light long pants, proper footwear or sneakers, wear no thongs, as there is always a chance of a bit of walking.
This tour is rated moderate to high level of walking, it is suggested that guests requiring the aid of a wheelchair or any other kinds of walking aids are not suitable for this tour.
