About the Tour
This full day tour gives fantastic insights about rural life versus urbanisation. Although we will remain on Hong Kong side, nearby China will be in sight throughout the walk.
We will follow a trail passing through several abandoned or partly abandoned villages, and offering great rural sceneries. Cows are generally quite happy to see us but this is nothing like the warm welcome that the unique inhabitant of the village will give us.
Housing is a serious issue in Hong Kong and having the chance to tour an abandoned village with a genuine and sole inhabitant gives fantastic insights about the local geopolitics and the future of Hong Kong. Should the population push for the protection of country parks or for more residential areas? We will have lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Central.
