Mountains, valleys and water create a very distinct landscape on our Hong Kong territory. A topography attractive to human settlers as well as birds, both for which Hong Kong has become famous. Walk Hong Kong is here to take you outdoors and to share the fascination for the surroundings we live in. We will come across traces of these early settlers on our walks in in combination with interesting flora and fauna.

David has spent most of his working life in Asia, including 28 years in Hong Kong. He is the author of Birding Hong Kong: A Site Guide and one of the co-authors of The Avifauna of Hong Kong. More recently he has written and published Hong Kong Nature Walks: The New Territories and Hong Kong Nature Walks: Kowloon, Hong Kong and Outlying Islands. His latest book is Mai Po: The Seasons – A Photographic Essay.

Born and grown up in Hong Kong, Matthew started birding with his father at the age of six when he saw his first Common Kingfisher at Kowloon Park. He never stopped birding since. An active member of the Hong Kong Birdwatching Society, Matthew is also devoted to observing various wildlife including reptiles, amphibians, insects, and spiders.

In her spare time, she loves meandering the hills of HK and sailing among little islands. She likes roaming around the world – on foot – during her holidays. A recent journey involved a 1800-km walk from the north of France to Rome. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, Dora also has a working knowledge of French.

Any tour or experience can be re-booked or canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 14 days before the experience starts.

Tours and Experiences cancellation due to bad weather is subject to your guide or hosts’ policies.

However, in the event of Black Rainstorm or Typhoon Signals 3 or above, all tours and experiences will be canceled and Explorers will be entitled to a full refund or a non-penalty re-booking based on guides’ or hosts’ availability.
